I did not set out to have this page, let alone a few of the others when I began designing and making this series of web sites. However, this first picture and story came in shortly after my mailing to the "Wooers" concerning our soldiers Thanksgiving, and one thing led to another -- and here is the page.

If you would like to place your soldiers picture and short story here for others to pray for them and share, please send them to SuzanneFromtling@woowebdesigns.com
"Thank you for caring for our son --- and all the other troops so far from home both in Afghanistan and Iraq. Our son has seen much and been through much there. I hope it's ok --- but I am enclosing a pic I received of him with an Iraqi babe. He said it is a bright spot to be able to go to the orphanage and visit with the children. They take them clothes and help with the generator and electricity there. We long for this to be over and all the soldiers home. Please keep our Chris in your thoughts and prayers.
Bless you so much and many thanks,
Jean"

Tell Us About Your Special Soldier
Steven Ray Metzger, Jr.
"My son is doing well after being hit by a mortar in Iraq yesterday. His injuries are his hands, and feet, but he will not lose any body part. His face is the concern right now, he was hit so hard it crushed part of his skull and ruptured his nasal passage with a piece of metal. They will be sending him for surgery as soon as the weather allows him to leave the area.

Last night they moved him from the hot zone to a mash unit in a safer area until his flight is ready to take him out of Iraq. He told me on the phone this morning he hurts like hell, the pain is more than he can handle but he is ready to come home. He also told me they awarded him the Purple Heart.

Now I cant tell you how proud I am of this kid. My Son Steven, I call him Steve, turned 30 on Nov 25. He spent 8 years in the Army got out and started working for a company that takes care of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, a large Army Tank. He travels all over the world with this tank and when it goes to war, my son goes with it to help the Army makes sure it runs correct. I'm very proud of my son and his talent. Enclosed is the picture of the shack my son built in Iraq. He said he had no problem leaving his home standing for the next person to move into.

I cant THANK YOU enough for your prayers. Thanks so so much! (((((((((((Hugs)))))))))) Vikki"

"My son has been resting in Germany and is doing so well. The doctors have done what they can and he thinks he will be leaving and heading for Texas in about 2 days. He will get the surgery he needs here to remove the metal from his eye socket and nasal area. His feet are fine but his left hand is a bit messed up he said but will heal and be back to new soon. I cant thank you enough for your prayers, your talent, and the love you share with us all.
This world is filled with the best people and I think I have met the BEST on the NET.
Thanks so so much again from my heart to you, thanks for being such a dear and caring person ... Hugs Vikki"
"Many people want me to tell my son Steven "Thanks" and how proud they are of him, my thought is to give everyone his addy and you can tell him what you want to. :) He is in Texas today with his family and the doctors are looking at what surgery he is going to need. :)
Write to him here: steve@hot.rr.com

Prayer wheel for our military. Send this on to loved ones to keep it going.

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our ground troops in Afghanistan, sailors on ships, and airmen in the air, and for those in Iraq. Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Coastguardsman, Marine or Airman, prayer is the very best one.
"Here is a picture of my son PFC Timothy Sparkman. He has been in Iraq since November. He got Married in May, turned 20 in October and his daughter is due to be born April 10th, 2004.

He keeps me advised that he is o.k. with e-mails. I can't wait till he gets home safe. He says that won't be until December or January.

Please add him to the prayers we all send out to all who are over there.
Thank you -- Deborah Alayne

"Suzy,

Being new to your group, I just found this site for our brave military people.

Our son, Steven, is doing his second tour over in Iraq, and along with all the other brave men and women over there, he needs prayers and thanks for the wonderful job they are all doing for God and country.

This is Sgt. Steven G. Simpson, U. S. Army.

Thank you for having this site available to all the families with loved ones in the battle.

"My son got to come home for a few weeks, his wife was due any day so they induced her to ensure that my son would be home for his baby's birth. He was due to go back on April 6th. His daughter Trinity Marie was born on April 5th. She was 7 lbs. 1 1/2 ozs. and 19 inches long. He was able to get an extension so he could spend a week with her.

He is now back in Iraq. Was in Fallujah for about a week till they could get him back to his unit. He does not have any idea of when he will be home.

Thanks for your site to post them on. I pray for the day they all get to come home.

"Timothy has received a bronze star for rescuing another soldier from a bombed vehicle about a month ago. About two weeks ago, his vehicle ran over a bomb, he survived with a concussion and lots of bruising. He is to receive a purple heart for that.

One of the two other guys in the vehicle is being sent to Germany for surgery. We are hoping that my son gets to come home in September or October. They change plans all the time. My daughter in law and grand baby made it here for a visit. Trinity looks just like her father.

He has already been to Iraq (just returned to Ft Campbell, Ky in "Jan 2004). Well, now he will be going again. He is scheduled to leave in February 2005.

He is 21 years old. He joined the Army fresh out of high school at the age of 17. He is my heart. Please pray for him.

P.S. I am looking for free graphics for a friend of mine that is an Army Wife. Can you help me? It's very difficult to find many. Thank you, Janet"

Much Love and Prayers -- Suzanne - 8/24/04
Deborah & Timothy, I am so very glad to know that you are now back home here with your loved ones again Timothy, thank you for each and every moment you spent away from your loved ones and from the U.S.

None of us will ever know the horrors you all go through every moment in Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas in the Middle East. I do know from reading numerous papers that a lot of soldiers come home needing support of many kinds Timothy, and I do pray that you will consider seeking some help getting used to life here again, especially with your new child and wife. There are some programs paid for by the government, especially for this particular situation, so let them give you the guidance and time with one another you need. You certainly deserve all the support the U.S. has to give for your sacrifices.

Just don't give up on letting love back into your life. We will all keep you and your family in our prayers. I know your Mom suffers with back injuries just as I do, and she is always in my prayers.

Thank you again for your hard work and time making a difference,
Suzanne Fromtling

This is the love of my life and my hero.

He is serving his 3rd - (yes third) tour of duty in Iraq!

He is a Major in the Air Force and flies a KC135 Tanker -- they provide air cover for the jet bombers.

Please remember this wonderful man in your prayers.

Thank you ~ Barbara

Update on Timothy: "He made it back from Iraq,  thanks so much for all the prayers. He has decided though that he does not want to be married anymore. He has only been married less than 2 years and he was over there a year. His daughter is only 9 months old. I pray he comes to his senses."

UPDATE - May 11, 2005
Forgot to to tell you the other day, my son Timothy, whom you have on your soldier page has gotten back together with his wife. They have just been re-united at Fort Lewis in Washington state. I am so glad he has come to his senses. He did lose his left ear drum in the explosion, nothing they can do for it. But they still plan to send him back over there in December or January.

I got this e-mail from a soldier recently, and along with adding this to my links pages I felt it should also be added to this one so everyone will find her web site.

I found your web site today while I was looking for some animations to put on my web site.  I am a soldier stationed in Baghdad with the Louisiana National Guard and I started a web site with nothing but the positive side of the war.  I put a couple of your animations on my site and I also put a link to your site on my Links page. Thank you for supporting us and feel free to use any of the pics on my web site if you would like.  Thank you!  www.armychic256bde.com
